Feeding your Wanderlust
Wanderlust is a German word that has been hijacked into the English language. It designates a strong desire for or impulse to wander, or, in modern usage, to travel and to explore the world. Since the dawn of time, man has yearned to visit new places, see new things, and experience the daily reality of others that they take for granted. Through the use of immersive imaging cameras, a skilled photographer can immerse the viewer into a scene. The viewer can visually experience a scene as he would if he were there by looking 360 degrees left and right, and 180 degrees up and down. By posting those images on an immersive imaging webserver, the photographer can share the experience with a wide spectrum of people. The internet is finally giving people around the globe a way to economically feed their wanderlust. In the next few posts, I will take you on a tour of several locations, from East Texas to Central Arkansas, and you will never leave the comfort of your current location.
